This article was published at the WSJ, but it is now behind a paywall.

Below is my original list, for those who want to see the top 5.

The Meb Faber Show with Meb Faber

Meb Faber is the portfolio manager at Cambria Investment Management, an advisory firm focused on quantitative asset management and alternative investments. He has written numerous white papers and books on investing topics, and is a prominent member of the finance blogosphere. In short, he is a voice that many people seeking to learn more about investing pay close attention to. Meb has an impressive podcast, The Meb Faber Show, which covers a wide range of investing-related topics, and features a variety of fascinating guests. One of my favorites episodes included Rob Arnott, the CEO of Research Affiliates, and their in-depth discussion of value investing and overall market valuations.

Invest Like the Best with Patrick O’Shaughnessy

Patrick O’Shaughnessy is a portfolio manager at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management, a quantitative money management firm. The firm has been a trailblazer in the field of research-based investing strategies, and Patrick has been an effective communicator of how investors can best leverage them. Patrick’s podcast, Invest Like the Best, showcases Patrick’s incredibly wide-ranging knowledge and intellectual curiosity across a variety of subjects that aren’t always entirely investment focused. One of my favorite episodes included Jason Zweig, who readers will recognize from his weekly WSJ column, The Intelligent Investor. Patrick and Jason discuss general financial topics but also dig in on the difference between serendipity and luck. Fascinating stuff.

The Investor’s Podcast with Preston and Stig

Preston Pysh and Stig Broderson are the dynamic duo of podcasting, hosting The Investors Podcast, which has 9 million+ downloads. Stig has a great background and an IQ over 200, while Preston is an active duty service member and has the smoothest radio voice among all podcasts I listen to. The podcast covers a range of investing topics, with in-depth conversations with leading lights of the investing world. If you are thinking about reading a particular investment book, chances are good that these guys have interviewed the author. One of my favorite episodes involved billionaire Jesse Itzler, the owner of the Atlanta Hawks, who discussed why he lived with a Navy SEAL for 31 days to improve his life.

Bloomberg Masters in Business with Barry Ritholtz

Bloomberg columnist Barry Ritholtz is CIO of Ritholtz Wealth Management, an investment advisory firm, and is a familiar face in the blogosphere and in the media generally. His podcast, Masters in Business, attracts some very famous names. Recent guests on the podcast include NYU finance professor, Aswath Damodoran, William McNabb, CEO of Vanguard, and Bill Miller, who ran the Legg Mason Value Trust. Barry was also kind enough to have me on the show, but my favorite episode has to be Barry’s interview with the legendary Jack Bogel, founder of the Vanguard Group, Inc. Jack gives listeners an amazing perspective on his 50+ years in the financial services business. Incredible insights and a must listen.

Trend Following Radio with Michael Covel

Michael Covel’s podcast has had over 4mm listeners and he’s completed 500 episodes. He’s probably the most established podcaster on this list — and it shows. Michael’s podcast is great for those looking for alternative views on the market and are tired of hearing the same old stories told on CBNC and other traditional outlets. Highly recommended if you are looking to expand your mind in investing. Michael has had some incredible guests, to include multiple Nobel prize winners and world-famous investors. One of my favorite episodes was when Michael interviewed Annie Duke, a former professional poker player who has some incredible insights on decision-making. Michael always has me thinking and Annie Duke only amplified my brainwave activity.

The list above is my curated list of the top podcasts that work for me. There are many others and I encourage inspired investors to check them all out and share the best.
