Democratize Quant Conference Survey
We are exploring a “Democratize Quant” conference concept.
The mission of the event would be to educate investors on the benefits of applying quantitative tools in their investment process.
Unlike the typical investment conference, our focus would be less on “pitching product” and more about learning and education. For example, instead of listening to a speaker talk about their tactical asset allocation investment strategy, they would speak more broadly about tactical asset allocation–what it is, how it works, discuss various angles on the approach, etc.
The cost of the event would be ~$50-100 and would cover the costs of food and the venue.
The event would likely be held in the Philadelphia, PA area.
The schedule below would represent a high-level outline of the event:
8:30 – 9:00 Welcome reception; Breakfast
9:00 – 9:30 Opening Remarks; What is Quant?
9:30 – 10:20 Behavioral Finance
10:30 – 11:20 The Evidence: Man vs. Machine
11:30 – 12:20 Why Quant Fails and Where Man Succeeds
12:30 – 1:30 LUNCHEON BUFFET: Do-it-yourself Family Office Management
1:30 – 2:50 PANEL “Systematic Asset Allocation Strategies”
3:00 – 4:20 PANEL “Systematic Equity Strategies”
4:30 – 5:30 Reception
