The Alpha Architect Team & Friends took a trip to the mountains last weekend to conduct a Freedom Hike–Our unique form of team-building.

We were hosted by my youngest brother who runs an elk outfitting business — Flat Tops Wilderness Guides — deep in mountains of CO (not far from the ranch where we grew up).

We started the hike off with an attempt to promote awareness related to the high rates of suicide among veterans — estimated at over 20 per day. The squad — to include the 66-year-old Gary Antonacci of Dual Momentum fame — did 22 pushups as a team.

After we did our pushups we took the “before” picture — notice how everyone is smiling pre-hazing.

We followed our group shot with some intense outdoors adventure: We hiked over 30 miles, conquered Shingle Peak, fly fished, told lies around the camp fire, and managed to come back in one piece. Success.
